Making Floor Wax Out of Trash: A Project of the Thinkers Group

Cellophanes or plastics from trash can be used to make home made floorwax, or in the case of the grade six sci-curr pupils, we call it school-made floorwax.

The following pictures were taken during the Thinkers Group floorwax-making activity.

Gathering of Trash from the school ground:

Segregating and preparing the cellophanes to be used as one of the ingredients:

Pieces of used candles were added as one of the ingredients, including half liter of kerosene, and  pieces of cellophanes.
The kerosene was brought to boil then, the children put enough cellophanes to be melted with a half-liter kerosene.

However little wax they have made, they had fun trying it on the floor.
